ABOUT the designer of the Biella Print Idea Men´s Collection.
Giorgio Marinoni was born in Pollone (Biella / Italy) in 1956. His penchant for design and art, which was already present in primary school, led him to participate in the textile section of the Istituto Tecnico Industriale Q. Sella in Biella, where in 1977 he became awarded diploma for textile technician and designer.
He started his working career as an assistant in Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna in Trivero. In 1981, he left Zegna and moved to the Fratelli Garlanda Company to design fabric clothing for men’s clothing until 1986. He was called to Lanificio Cerruti in 1881 and continued his work experience for three years supporting stylist Nino Cerruti.
He then worked as a designer at Lanificio di Tollegno until 1991, when he was called to lead a small but dynamic company (Moda Biella) in charge of the collection for men’s and women’s clothing fabrics.
The Biella Textile Trend Books started in 2002 with ideas from Giorgio Marinoni, with a view to combining the publication of fashion trend books with the design of clothing collections.
