Vanguard VEO HD 15-45×60 Overview
From the forest to the mountains to the concrete jungle, Vanguard designed the 45° angled viewing 15-45×60 VEO HD Spotting Scope to provide power and performance to new and experienced users alike for hunting, birding, and general glassing in all environments. Utilizing a generous 60mm objective lens and their Advanced MultiGuard lens coating system boosts its performance in low and challenging conditions while ensuring the views remain bright and clear, even when the magnification is dialed all the way up. Its broad zoom range allows you to enjoy a spacious 141-foot field of view and more easily scan the landscape for targets at the low 15x with the ability to quickly dial up the power to 45x and make detailed observations of distant subjects.
From the forest to the mountains to surveying the wonders of the night sky, the 45° angled viewing Vanguard 20-60×80 VEO HD Spotting Scope is designed to provide power and performance to new and experienced users alike for hunting, birding, and general glassing in all environments. Utilizing a massive 80mm objective lens and their Advanced MultiGuard lens coating system boosts its performance in low and challenging conditions while ensuring the views remain bright and clear, even when the magnification is dialed all the way up. Its broad zoom range allows you to scan the landscape for targets at the low 20x with the ability to quickly dial up the power to 60x and make detailed observations of distant subjects. Its combination of magnification and objective lens diameter makes this spotter ideal for beginner astronomers, delivering views of the moon and larger planets, with the ability to survey the night sky for comets or to view constellations.
Optical Performance
- Powerful 20-60x zoom eyepiece allows you to make detailed observations and identifications at extreme long range
- Oversized 80mm objective lens helps to ensure views remain bright and clear, even when viewing subjects at long range on maximum magnification and in challenging light conditions; also makes the spotting scope ideal as a starter telescope for lunar and planetary viewing and surveying constellations
- Proprietary Advanced MultiGuard anti-reflection multi-coatings improve light transmission, color rendition, resolution, clarity, and contrast
- 110-foot field of view at 1000 yards at 20x power, 52-foot at 60x
Use and Handling
- The eyepiece is set at a 45° angle to the optical tube, placing the user’s head in a comfortable viewing position whether standing, sitting, or lying prone
- Large textured single-speed focusing collar ensures tack-sharp views, even while wearing gloves
- Twist-up rubber eyecup for comfortable use with or without eyewear
- Rotating tripod collar allows the user to adjust the orientation of the eyepiece relative to the tripod for optimum viewing comfort
- Standard 1/4″-20 mount is compatible with most quick release plates, heads, and photo/video/field tripods and other support systems
- Long eye relief at all powers allows the user to back off the eyepiece to reduce eye fatigue and increase viewing comfort during long glassing sessions—even on high magnification
- 4mm exit pupil at 15x magnification will completely cover most pupils as they open and dilate in low light
Construction Details
- Carbon fiber chassis is corrosion resistant and reduces the overall weight without affecting strength or stability
- Chassis material is resistant to thermal expansion that can cause the optical components to move out of alignment over time and prevent being able to achieve sharp focus
- Durable Mitsubishi rubber armor protects the optical tube from impacts and bumps while providing a sure grip during setup and breakdown—even in cold and wet conditions
- Optical tube is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging in extreme conditions
- Extendable sun shade prevents flare when looking in the direction of the sun—improving contrast and clarity, especially when the sun is low on the horizon at dawn and dusk
