BlackBerry KEY2 Overview

Focusing on productivity and security, the classic design of the BlackBerry KEY2 BBF100-2 64GB Smartphone features a physical, 35-key, backlit QWERTY keypad with integrated fingerprint sensor. As you type out important texts and business plans on the go, the aluminum alloy frame with textured diamond non-slip grip on the back helps to ensure it stays secure in your hands. To help you navigate the OS more easily with physical keys, BlackBerry provides a Speed Key feature that lets you activate shortcuts to apps and actions anywhere, regardless of where you are in the OS onscreen.

As with any modern smartphone, you can navigate with taps and swipes on the built-in HD touchscreen. The KEY2 has been equipped with a 4.5″ 1620 x 1080 resolution IPS LCD. However you enter your sensitive personal and professional information, a series of protections are built-in to ensure they are protected. BlackBerry KEY2 utilizes DTEK security, Locker Private Zone app with Firefox Focus Private Browser, and Privacy Shade.

The dual rear 12MP cameras are capable of snapping hi-res HDR photos and videos at up to 4K resolution. The KEY2 also incorporates a front 8MP selfie camera with the ability to capture videos at up to 1080p resolution. All of the KEY2’s features and technologies are powered by a 3500mAh battery that has enough power for up to 2 days of battery life on a single charge.

Running the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, this phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, 1.8/2.2 GHz octa-core CPU, and 6GB of RAM. You can store your 12MP images, 4K videos, and apps on 64GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via an (optional) microSD card up to 256GB in size. This phone is unlocked and compatible with GSM/4G LTE networks. Connect to the internet and other devices with built-in Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 5.0 LE.

The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google’s services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google’s web search. Android 8.1 Oreo adds major productivity and security capabilities to the operating system. They’ve introduced Google Play Protect, which scans apps on your phone to detect harmful behavior. With the touch of the Home button, continue to work in apps while watching active videos in Picture-in-Picture mode. Other features include, faster boot speed, automatically turning on Wi-Fi when near saved networks, limiting background activity for little used apps, notification snoozing, smart text selection, and more.

GSM / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity

This phone is designed to work on select GSM networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband Internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can’t get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
