SOURCE
Athleisure gets oversized, and sports brands take to the catwalk, as collaborations continue to influence the future of activewear. Tim Coppens’ work for Under Armour took a 1990s flavor and brought it to bang up-to-date, and Lacoste reviewed classic sports and casual styles to make them street-ready through playing with scale.
COLOUR
A military-inspired palette relies on color proportion to keep it feeling contemporary. Olive greens are used in blocks and mixed with silver or black. Blazing orange features alongside monochrome outfits, whilst a range of blues, from the sky through to cobalt, are offset by nutmeg and khaki. French navy unites both stories.

ATTITUDE
Big doesn’t have to mean brash, as oversized styles limit the amount of details to create a statement. Point blank features also play a role, delivering a find-later factor to offest the immediacy of the overall look. Relaxed but inherently smart, the aesthetic centers on a single oversized showpiece creating drama and intrigue.
KEY STYLE 1:
THE WATERPROOF JACKET Outerwear really drives our ‘Off-the-Scale’ concept, and whilst this example is geared towards men, the Under Armour x Tim Coppens collection highlighted how women could wear the same piece. Unlined, utilising a 3-layer polyester twill with breathable, waterproof lamination, the jacket is just as beautiful inside as out.
KEY STYLE 2:
THE SLIM PANT Blended polyester and cotton is given a durable, water-resistant coating to provide comfort and functionality. A super slim silhouette, the part of the season combines the best elements of a dress pant, a five-pocket chino, and an athletic pant.
DETAILS • Raised rear waistband to give coverage, even when cycling • Rear waterproof pockets • Abrasion resistant Cordura heel panels
DETAILS • Stow-able super-lightweight nylon hood • Oversized waterproof zips to hide chest and hand pockets • Nylon/elastane warp knit inner glove-cuffs • Rear yoke ventilation
DETAILS • Low, V-cut slightly oversized hood • Exaggerated drawcords • Cuff thumbhole • Functional, drapey merino wool • Wide-cut shoulders and body shape with standard fit sleeves
KEY STYLE 3:
THE HOODED DRESS Based on the silhouette of a knitted hoodie, the volume is slightly exaggerated, but it is in the length that this star women’s piece comes to life. Easily worn as a dress, or over tights, the best fabric will be merino wool. Alternatively, a jersey with minimal stretch or a lightweight French terry will give variations on the theme.
